All You Need is Love

The Beatles (Lennon/McCartney)

June 25, 1967 – The Beatles star in “Our World,” a two-hour satellite television program transmitted live by satellite to five continents and 24 countries. They performed “All You Need is Love.” This was the first live television satellite program to air worldwide.

All You Need is Love

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It’s easy.

There’s nothing you can make that can’t be made.
No one you can save that can’t be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be in time
It’s easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

There’s nothing you can know that isn’t known.
Nothing you can see that isn’t shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be.
It’s easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

Why do national anthems sound so alike? Why do countries all salute the same tinny marches with their dotted rhythms and major keys, rather than draw on their distinctive musical heritage?
